Karra’s resignation reflects gravity of situation: NC

Srinagar—National Conference on Thursday said the resignation of PDP MP Tariq Karra reflected the gravity of situation in Kashmir and scale of “disaffection” for PDP’s “complete sell-out”.
“Tariq Karra’s resignation reflected the gravity of the situation in Kashmir and also the enormity and scale of disaffection – both against PDP and within PDP – for its complete sell-out,” said NC spokesperson Junaid Mattu, in a statement, issued here today.
He said it was for PDP and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to reflect over the party co-founder and its Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Tariq Karra’s resignation from the Lok Sabha and from the basic membership of the party.
“National Conference has not asked for the dismissal of this State Government, nor have we asked Mehbooba Mufti to resign. These calls are coming from the topmost leaders in her own party and it is for her own conscience to decide what she would like to do. What lessons she draws from Karra’s resignation is a matter of her own conscience and morality,” said Mattu.—GK
