Karachi—Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday said the gains of the Rangers-led Karachi operation cannot be allowed to reverse.
General Raheel Sharif, as part of his farewell visits, was visiting officers and soldiers of Karachi Corps and the Sind Rangers.
“Any designs of enemies of Pakistan to keep the metropolitan city on the boil have been blunted and the gains can not be allowed to reverse,” said the army chief. He also said that capacity building of civil law-enforcing institutions must continue for sustainable peace in Karachi.
The outgoing army chief lauded the Sindh Rangers for their significant contribution in improving the security situation in Karachi and areas of interior Sindh.
General Raheel Sharif was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar.
