Jhagra assures possible support to UoM needs


Governor confers degrees, medals to UoM students

Chakdara—The University of Malakand Monday held its 4th convocation in which degrees and gold medals were awarded to graduates for the sessions 2012, 2013 and 2014. Chancellor of the University and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer, Iqbal zaffar Jhagra was chief guest on the occasion.
A total of 117 graduates from the faculties of Arts and Humanities, Biological Sciences, Management Sciences, Science, Information Technology, Social Sciences, Education and Law received their degrees and the Chancellor awarded 55 graduates gold medals. Vice Chancellors of Islamia College University, Abbotabad University of Science and Technology, Syndicate members, Commissioner Malakand Division and Prof. Dr. Jehandar Shah, Ex-Vice Chancellor University of Malakand, also attended the convocation.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor of Malakand University Prof Dr Johar Ali congratulated the graduating students and awardees of gold medals. Later on, he briefed about the progress that the university had made in the recent years.
He also mentioned about the completed and ongoing projects and the steps that the university had taken to facilitate the students. He also expressed his hope that Chancellor would extend all possible support to the university in meeting its urgent needs. In his address to the participants, the Governor extended his felicitations to the graduating students.
He was all praise for the event and the organizers. He expressed his pleasure at the tremendous growth of the university in a very short time. He particularly congratulated the Vice Chancellor on the second position of the University by Pakistan Council of Science and Technology in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
