Jatoi to visit PMTF stall


Islamabad—Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi will visit the stall set up by Pakistan Machine Tool Factory at International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) commenced at the Expo Centre Karachi on Friday. The factory is playing a pivotal role in making the country self-reliant in producing various types of defence equipments, a spokesman here on Tuesday said. He said, Pakistan Tool Factory is displaying light artillery weapons as well as rocket launchers at the exhibition. The factory is not only fulfilling the domestic requirements but also exporting these arms to Sri Lanka, Middle East, and North Africa. The purpose of the visit of the federal minister is to see the exhibition as well as encourage attached departments of his ministry. He said, before assuming the charge of the min-istry by Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi, this factory was running into deficit and there were talks about its privatization. How-ever, after personal interest shown by the minister, the factory has been turned into a profit-able unit as several countries have placed orders of billion of rupees.—APP
