Inter-institute football tournament kicks off


Multan—Six days All-Multan Inter-institute floodlit football tournament, organised by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Agriculture University Multan, kicked off at Fort Qasim Bagh Stadium on Wednesday. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ali formally inaugurated the tournament, which will continue by October 23. The tournament was being played on knock-out basis, while over 16 teams from universities, colleges and schools were participating. The first match was played between Emerson College and Science College football teams, which was won by the former. The second match was played between Alamdar College and Central College, which was won by the latter. Nishtar Medical College won its match by defeating Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering & Technology. The last match was played between the Institute of southern Punjab and PIET, which was won by the latter. The final match would be played on Sunday.—APP
