IHC admits lawyers plea to become party in judges case


Islamabad —Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday accepted the plea of Islamabad High Court Bar Association and Islamabad Bar Association to become party in a case regarding appointments of judges in lower judiciary of the capital. Justice Noor ul Haq N Qureshi heard the case filed by the judges of lower courts seeking regularization of their services.
During the proceeding of the case, the court asked the respondents in the case to assist the court regarding the legal procedure for appointments of judges in lower courts. The bench observed that appointments were made without approval of judicial rules. The court adjourned hearing of the case till third week of next month.—APP
