HESCO cuts power supply to several govt offices


Matiari—Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) teams have disconnected electricity connections of more than 50-government offices and buildings due to non payment of dues in Matiari district on Saturday.
On the directives of Chief Executive officer, HESCO teams disconnected power supply of several government offices including District Council building, District Treasury office, Social Welfare office, Post office, main High School and Primary School, Degree College, Technical College, Girls College and other offices due to non payment of electricity bills.
According the Sub Divisional officer HESCO Matiari Sagheer Ahmed, power supply was disconnected for recovery of the outstanding amount of Rs. 120 million against the concerned departments. Meanwhile, it is reported from Sargodha that as many as 11 persons were booked for stealing electricity from main transmission line. Police said on Saturday that a task force of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) conducted raids at Chak 6 NB, lulliyani, Kotmomin, and other areas of the Tehsil Kotmomin and caught 11 people red-handed for stealing electricity from main transmission line.
The pilferers include: Muhammad Riaz, Muhammad Ameer, Gull Muhammad, Muhammad Bukhsh, Muhammad Khan, Allah Ditta, Omer Hayat and others. On the report of SDO, the police have registered cases against the accused.—APP
