Lahore—The Punjab government would cretae posts of district information technology managers, tehsil information technology officers and information technology managers at departmental level in the province.
Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has accorded approval in this regard and constituted a special committee, headed by Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja to chalk out the job description of all the IT managers to be appointed at district, tehsil and departmental levels.
The committee members met here at the Civil Secretariat under the chairmanship of the additional chief secretary. The meeting decided that the departmental IT managers would provide technical assistance to their respective departments in order to improve key performance indicators (KPIs), and help implement the ICT initiatives and other projects related to information technology. The special committee suggested that the IT managers should be given market-based salaries and service rules whereas these officers recruited for new posts would oversee trouble shooting, archiving system’s backups and disaster recovery.
