Girl’s suicide

Sanaullah Samad

Recently, a 20 year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her home, hanging from a ceiling fan. The police started the investigations, but it is not clear that why she has committed suicide? This is not the only case, each day many cases are taking place. Every year around 15,000 suicide cases are recorded in Pakistan, and nearly 25 percent of the cases belong to teens and 50 percent of the cases occur with youth under 30 years.
Although Pakistan is a Muslim country and Islam has prohibited committing suicide, but high suicide rates among Pakistani are being reported each years. The youth is committing suicide, which is very negative for the society and can affect the upcoming generation. I would like to request concern authorities to launch awareness campaign against this trend to protect young generation.
