Geelani, Sehrai under house arrest



Hurriyat (G) has said its chairman Syed Ali Geelani, and Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai have been again placed under house arrest and police have also raided the residences of Mohammad Ashraf Laya and Omer Adil Dar.
Spokesman Hurriyat (G) Ayaz Akbar in his statement while condemning police action said: “Authorities are following repressive and despotic Nazi philosophy and are hell-bent to strangulate every sincere voice in the State.”
Ayaz Akbar said Hurriyat leaders are not even allowed to carry out their political activities through peaceful means.
Hurriyat leaders are barred from offering religious prayers, said Ayaz Akbar, adding it tantamount to interference in religious matters.
Criticizing authorities for their “repressive and arbitrary” measures, spokesman said that it is having a negative implication over already grim situation in State.
Blaming administration for prevailing chaos, spokesman said that authorities have made the situation extremely explosive.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman said: “Hurriyat camp has already devised a program about election boycott and have called a complete shutdown on April 9 and 12. We have already issued a protest program and decided to concentrate on election boycott.”—RK
