Five killed in road accidents

Five persons including a woman were killed in separate road accidents in and around Faisalabad during past 12 hours. A police spokesman said here on Wednesday that a 50-year-old unidentified man was crossing Sargodha Road near chak No.1 when a speeding van hit him severely.He received serious injuries and died on the spot.He was yet to be identified.
In another accident, Niamat Ali resident of chak 149-RB was hit by a speedy tractor trolley and died on the spot. In yet another accident, a speeding van crushed to death a youth Muhammad Arshad resident of chak 112-GB,near Madani Garden Sitiana Road.
Also a youth,Asghar,resident of Quaidabad was killed while his pillion rider Ramzan sustained serious injuries when a speedy dumper hit their two-wheeler near Jhumra Khurarianwala bypass chowk. In the fifth accident, septuagenarian Safiyya Ashraf resident of chak 109-GB was injured seriously when a speeding van hit her at Jaranwala Road.
She was shifted to hospital where she breathed her last. The police handed over all bodies to their relatives for burial after completing necessary formalities.
A man shot dead a young woman over divorce related dispute,here in the area of Saddar police station. Police spokesman said that Sheikh Manzoor Sultan,resident of chak 225-RB, Kehkashan Colony exchanged hot words over divorce of his sister Maria. and opened indiscriminate firing at a woman Natasha,killing her on the spot.
The police took the body into its custody and started investigation to arrest the accused who managed to escape from the scene after firing.—APP
