Experts express concern over rising temperature

Chitral—A day long workshop on wildlife conservation and management of wildlife was held at Mastuj. Addressing participants, Hameed Mir, Imtiaz Hussain, Waqas Ahmad Advocate and other experts expressed concern over rise in temperature due to environmental pollution. They said deforestation is not only affecting wildlife but is also causing floods and melting glaciers. They observed that Chitral has great potential of wildlife like brown bear, Ibex, Kashmir Markhor, Snow leopard and other rare birds, animals, medicinal plants and forests. They said that 542 glaciers of Chitral are melting very fast due to environmental pollution. The participants said efforts to create awareness among the masses about the importance of wildlife should continue. Participants of workshop from Broghul valley expressed great pleasure over setting up of a national park in that valley. They said that it will certainly have good impacts on the environment.
