Efforts to curb spurious fertilizer’s sale geared up


Hyderabad—The Sindh Agriculture Extension Department has expedited its efforts to curb the sale of spurious fertilizer on the directives of the provincial ministers Anwar Siyal and sec-retary Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo.
The department’s Director General (DG) Hidayatullah Chajro informed this during a meeting with the depart-ment’s officers at his office, said a press release issued here on Sunday.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the ongoing campaign against the harmful fertilizer and shared the findings of the recent lab reports which declared 19 sepa-rate brands of fertilizer as substandard. The DG told the meeting that the manufacturers of those 19 brands would face action under Pesticide Act 1971.
He informed that M Naseem Rajput of Badin, Nazeer Ahmed of Noshehro Feroze, Abdul Raheem Lakho and M Bilal Khanzada of Benazirabad, Bashir Nabi Allahwala and Ayaz Ali Khoso of Dadu.—APP
