Efforts are being made to control dengue


Rawalpindi—District Coordination Officer(DCO) Talat Mehmood Gondal on Frida said all out-efforts are being made to control dengue cases in the district. He said “the situation is under control and chance of dengue fever will subside by end of October when the weather conditions change.”
Chairing a meeting to review anti-dengue arrangements, he said around 291 dengue fever suspects have so far been brought to the allied hospitals, out of which 218 cases were detected positive and were being provided the treatment.
He said during indoor surveillance the health teams visited 41294 houses out of which larvae was found in 1594 houses while during outdoor surveillance larvae was detected in 59 spots after visiting 8227 sites. He said maximum arrangements for the treatment of dengue fever patients have been made; besides all possible preventive measures are in place to meet any eventuality. He advised the citizens to take precautionary measures and do not panic as dengue fever is curable with timely and proper treatment.—APP
