Minister of State for Communication Muhammad Junaid Anwaar Chaudhary Wednesday informed the National Assembly that E-ticketing system would be introduced on the federal capital roads soon.
Speaking during the question hour, the minister said the E-Ticketing system had already been introduced on motorways (M-1 Peshawar to Islamabad), (M-2 Islamabad to Lahore), (M-3 Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad) and (M-4 Faisalabad to Gojra), and Highway N-5 (Peshawar to Lahore).
However, on Highway N-5 (Lahore to Karachi) and N-25 (Hub to Quetta) dual mode of ticketing (manual & E-ticketing) was being implemented, he added
He said the E-ticketing system would be implemented on all motorways and highways under the NH&MP (National Highways & Motorways Police) jurisdiction during the financial year 2017-18.
He said work on M-9 was underway, which would be completed soon. To another question, the minister agreed to establish trauma centers on motorways and highways soon after obtaining the funds.
