Climbing the Black Mountain..!
That my friend was just the beginning of the climb up the Black Mountain. The black mountain Obama now climbs is a precarious one: “What’s that jagged rock over there sir?” ask his aids. “That’s the rock of unemployment, and that one over there is poverty!” “Let’s skip it Mr President, it looks too sharp and dangerous and looks like tentacles coming out of it!” “Tentacles of my Republican friends! Oh no, we climb over that rock!” “It’s a black rock sir!” “As black as me, so lets start, here let me give you a hand!”
And with a heave and a push, he starts to try and conquer the black rock of unemployment and poverty that his foes in the other party wouldn’t want to be bothered with. “Mr President there’s another razor edged, spiky, knife like projection blocking us!” “Health care!” laughs the President. “What do we do sir?” “Why face it! The sick need care, so do the old and infirm!” “The Republicans are shouting from that rock sir!” “Yes, they yell that the old can look after themselves, and so do the sick; that it ain’t the job of the tax payer to look after them! What do we do sir?” “Why climb over that rock and up the black mountain!”
And with a heave and a push, he starts to try and conquer the black rock of health care, that his foes from the opposite party wouldn’t want to bother with.
It’s a tough climb, oh it is, but that’s what he became President for, and for all of us, this is a lesson to be learned. So often by hook or by crook we manage to get into a position of power, and wonder how we got up there: “How did I become company president, I’m not from an influential family?” “How am I the head of the unit, I am not so qualified?”
And when we reach there, we have a choice, one to see that we continue remaining over there by not upsetting anyone, by pleasing the majority and the bullies, or, we have to start climbing the black mountain: Climbing the black mountain is to fulfill our purpose of being placed where we are!
And as Obama does just that, let us clap and cheer for him, because he needs all the help he’ll get against the jagged, unfriendly, cruel rocks that stand sharp and stony in his upward path, and let us also learn to climb likewise..!
