The Minister’s equality formula..!

Monday, June 28, 2010 - Minister! Minister, why are you crying?” “It is my fundamental right to cry!” “Ah you are peeved at the judges for quashing your order!” “Why are the judges doing this to me? This is the third year running that I have come up with a formula and it is the third time they have struck it down!” “The judges felt your formula violated the fundamental right of equality!” “No!” “Yes Minister!” “No!” “Yes minister that is what the judges have said!” “I am saying that is not what I wanted to do!” “You were not tampering with the fundamental right of equality?” “No!”

“So what are you actually trying to do?” “I am trying to make everybody equal!” “Minister! Minister you are crying again!” “It is my fundamental right to cry!” “Minister we have already gone over that. I agree it is your right to cry, that everybody in this nation has the right to cry!” “Yes, yes I am just exercising my fundamental right!” “Minister, minister we have gone past that part of the conversation and I agree with you, what the judges and the public don’t agree is what you mean by saying you are making all these educational formulas so that all students will be equal?” “Yes!”

“Yes what Minister? Okay, okay don’t cry, I will not shout, I will be gentle, not like the High Court judges who made you cry, now tell me how are you making everybody equal?” “I am a fourth standard pass is it not?” “I did not know that Minister!” “Yes, yes I passed the fourth standard, I did not fail, it is there in my office, hanging on the wall!” “What?” “My fourth standard pass certificate!” “Okay so you are a fourth standard pass!” “So my formula is to see that the whole country is equal, no fifth standard pass, no high school pass, no college degree…only?”

“Fourth standard pass!” “Right! And the judges struck my equality formula down!” “Don’t cry minister!” “It is the only fundamental right I have left, boo-hoo, boo-hoo..!”
