through as they’ve now not only got a new Prime Minister in David Cameron but also a deputy PM in Nick Clegg! “What exactly does a Deputy Prime Minister do?”
Wondered an English grocer in a market in London to his neighbour an Indian shopkeeper. “Matching clothes!” said the Indian shopkeeper. “What did you say mate?” asked the surprised English grocer. “He’s got to match his clothes every day!” said the Indian shop keeper, “Every morning Mrs Clegg will have to ring Mrs Cameron and ask what her husband is wearing, if he is wearing a blue blazer then Clegg will wear grey, if he wears a white shirt Clegg puts on a cream one!”
“Why can’t he wear red?” “And show the world they have a difference of opinion?” asked the Indian shopkeeper, “Man I see this everyday in India where they have many Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers!” “What else does a Deputy Prime Minister do?” asked the English grocer still very much puzzled. “He has to learn to spot a cameraman!” “What’s that mate?”
“That means that he should never be anywhere else than next to the Prime Minister when a photo is taken!” “But that’s nigh impossible mate, the paparazzi are everywhere!”
“Yeah Clegg will have to be everywhere too, next to Cameron, morning, evening, night and noon! God forbid a picture is taken without him, and England will slip back to a one leader nation! You know what I mean?”
The English grocer nodded though the puzzled look was still there. “What about their wives?” “What about them?” asked the Indian. “Should they also be next to each other when their photos are taken?” “They should go on a holiday!” “What are you saying mate?”
“Yeah, the Prime Minister and his deputy are now like any other newly married couple,” said the Indian wisely, “They don’t need others in their marriage!” “So will them two have lots of fights?” asked the grocer his eyes brightening up. “Lots and lots of them. Just wait till the honeymoon is over, “ said the Indian shopkeeper wisely, “Then it’s bam, bam, bam, and straight to the divorce lawyers for a quick divorce and a new election..!”
