Rubina Qaim Khani suspends absent employees

Friday, August 23, 2013 - Karachi—Sindh Minister for special education, social development and women development Rubina Saadat Qaim Khani had suspended a number of employees of Government Educational complex, Vocational Training Centre for Disable Persons, Rehabilitation centre for employment of Disable Persons, Regional Directorate of Special education and other departments that fall under her portfolio on charges of late-coming and absence from duty without formal information to the heads of the departments.

She took the decision during her surprise visit to the above-mentioned departments Wednesday and issued further directives for the issuance of show cause notices to those suspended.

While talking on the occasion, the Minister said that the officers and staffers of the departments that fall under the ministry of social and women development should improve them and pay attention of resolving the issues of the concerned people or else they would be liable to strict departmental actions.

The Minister directed the officials of the ministry and the department she had visited that they should carve out programmes for proper rehabilitation of the disable persons so that they could also play their role for the country as normal citizens.

On the occasion, the officials of said departments had also briefed the Minister about the functioning of the departments and received necessary instructions from the Minister for better results of the government’s initiatives take for the betterment of the disable persons.
