Staff ReporterMonday, May 20, 2013 - Islamabad—The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC) has “again directed that Drug Regulatory Agency of Pakistan (DRAP) shall not take any decision regarding formula of increase in the rates of pharmaceutical/drugs/disposable or any other item related thereto, without written approval of the Minister” in Charge.
“It is a policy decision of NHSRC division that no increase in the prices of pharmaceutical/drugs/disposable or any other items related thereto shall be made/executed during the interim government period”, said a NHSRC press release issued here.
“These policy decisions are to be implemented without fail and any orders, instruments, agreements and contracts having been authenticated by any officer of the division or DRAP regarding increase in prices of the Pharmaceutical/Drugs/Disposable or any other item during the period of interim government are presumed to be void ab-initio,” the press release added.
It is the policy of the division that any business of the division in which there is any financial implication shall be executed only after written approval of the Minister. No officer shall autenticate any orders and instruments, agreements and contracts, as enunicated in Clause 7 of the Rules, without having sanction/approval of the Minister in Charge.
