The Railway authority changed the regular schedule of departure and arrival of trains which added to the inconvenience of the passengers.
“Our train was to leave for early in the morning to Lahore but its departure has been delayed for five hours. We are sitting on the benches in the chilly weather perforce and we are afraid that the train will leave Rawalpindi station according to new schedule or otherwise , said Ghulam Rasool, a passenger.
The departure time was mid hours of night between Sunday and Monday but was announced that it would depart at 11a.m on Monday. We have children with us of the ages ranging between 2 to 5 years. This abrupt change in the schedule multiplied our agony as our children had to undergo severe wave of cold as they had to spend the night on the wooden benches without quilt. 2 children have caught cold and one is suffering from fever being struck by biting cold, said Maheen, a house wife.
If the railway authorities was to change the time table, they should have informed us some time earlier as the timely information could avert pangs of anguish and disturbance to us, said a group of passengers.—Online
