30 PBC journalists trained in ‘Media for Peace’

Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - Islamabad—A five-day training workshop concluded here on Monday imparting training to 30 producers and presenters of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) hailing from 25 districts of the country.

The training was organized by Uks Research Center in collaboration with Search for Common Ground| Pakistan (SFCG) and Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC).

The training “Media for Peace” was conducted under the project “Pakistan Peace Initiative” and aimed at equipping Radio Pakistan’s producers and presenters with collaborative approaches to problem solving as effective media professionals.

The training enhanced participants’ proficiency on ‘Common Ground Approaches’ to radio production enabling them to produce radio talk shows that are solution-oriented, aimed at reducing stereotypes and propose constructive solutions to complex issues of local level conflicts, promoting dialogue and peace building as the main theme.—APP
