Demos against blasphemous movie


Sunday, September 23, 2012 - Lahore—Pakistan Sunni Tehrik (PST) staged a protest demonstration against blasphemous US movie at Lorry Adda Chowk here on Saturday.

PST City President Muhammad Tahir Qadri, Allama Riaz, ulema of different schools of thought and a large number of PST workers participated in the protest.

The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans against US movie makers. They strongly condemned the blasphemous movie and vowed to continue Namous-e-Risalat tehrik. Artistes organised a protest rally against the blasphemous US movie on Saturday.

Renowned stage artistes Iftikhar Thokar, Fakhari Khan, Akmal Rahi, Abid Sialvi, Hassan Murad, Sabir Ali Raja, Tahir Noshad, Asif Iqbal and Uzma Naz participated in the rally which started at Mehfil Theatre and ended at the Lahore Press Club on Saturday.

The participants were carrying placards inscribed with slogans against the movie makers. Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (Narooni) on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the US movie. A large number of JUP workers participated in the protest outside the Lahore Press Club. The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against US pastor Terry Jones and the US government.Addressing the protsters, JUP City President Naseer Narooni, Hafiz Ihsan Noorani and Tasadaq Narooni condemned the movie makers and vowed to sacrifice their lives for the honour of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).—APP
