Police register case against protestors


Sunday, September 23, 2012 - Lahore—Police Saturday registered cases against more than six thousand citizens involved in violent protests on the occasion of Youm-e-Ishq-e- Rasool.

According to details, police have registered the cases under different articles of terrorism, attempted murder, police encounters, ransacking and disturbing law and order situation.

The culprits included violent protestors who ransacked public and private property, pelted stones at police deployed at sensitive location, looting banks and shops, setting ablaze police pickets, vehicles and motorcycles outside governor house, in Garrhi Shaho, Shimla Paharri and other localities of the city.—INP
