Model police stations being established in Punjab: IGP
He said this while presiding over a high-level meeting held here to review the progress on the project of Model Police Stations at Central Police Office. Additional IGPs and DPO Vehari were also present.
The IGP reviewed in detail the progress on the Model Police Stations while a presentation was given to the IGP regarding the project.
He lauded the efforts of DPO Vehari for setting up model police station Danewal and said that the next meeting on the MPS project would be held in Vehari district.
Meanwhile, a high-level meeting was held at the Central Police Office to finalise a strategy to ensure proper monitoring of the law and order situation in the Punjab province particularly in Lahore for the Chief Minister.
Advisor to CM Jehanzaib Barki presided over the meeting.
The IGP gave a detailed briefing about the strategy while MNA Pervaiz Malik, MPA Hafiz Nauman, Additional Secretary (Police) Home Department Asif Bilal Lodhi, Chairman PITB Umar Saif, Secretary Prosecution, Maroof Afzal were also present on this occasion besides other senior officers.
During the meeting, various proposals were discussed to finalise a strategy to prepare a comprehensive briefing for Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and it was decided that the briefing should be held on fortnightly basis rather than weekly basis.
It was also emphasised that a coordination committee should be constituted while a focal person be also appointed to maintain liaison among the public representatives, police, and prosecution.
The expansion forensic lab for evidence collection at district or division level, comparative analysis of crime incidents of last six months, sensational murder, kidnapping for ransom, dacoity, robbery, robbery-cum-murder, street crimes, car snatching, motorcycle-theft, jewellery shops and bank dacoities and data of online prosecution on the pattern of online FIR were also discussed in detail.
He assured full cooperation to all the participants and said that these proposals would be implemented after getting approval of Punjab Chief Minister.
