Public properties grabbing warned

Friday, September 21, 2012 - Peshawar—Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister, Bashir Ahmad Bilour warned that no land mafia would be allowed to grab the public property and such elements would be dealt with iron hands. He was talking to locals after opening the closed Government Girls High School in Quaidabad which was locked by some influential people of the area. It is to mention here that some residents of the area had visited Bashir Ahmad Bilour’s office and informed him about the land grabbers who had locked the school affecting the education of the girls of the area. The senior minister taking serious notice of the situation visited the school and ordered to break the locks and open the school. However, when the locks were broken it was found that the door was locked from inside. When the authorities opened the other door to go inside they found some persons sitting inside the school wearing the uniforms of levies force. Upon this the residents of the area accompanying the senior minister went furious and tried to manhandle the persons inside the school. However, Bashir Ahmad Bilour asked the people not to take the law into their own hands and warned the persons in levies uniform not to repeat this illegal act otherwise serious action would be taken against them. He said that providing quality education was the priority of the government and no one would be allowed to put hurdles in playing with the future of the students. The minister directed the authorities to bring the girl students and their teachers back to school who were being accommodated in a nearby boys’ school. The residents of the area including the parents of the students thanked Bashir Bilour for his support in reopening the school.
