2 die, several injured in IHK road mishaps


Friday, September 21, 2012 - Srinagar—In occupied Kashmir, two persons died and several others were injured in different traffic accidents in the Valley.

One person identified as Abdul Rauf was killed and three others were injured after a vehicle skidded off the road on Leh-Srinagar highway near Spangla in Drass. All the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment.

A vehicle hit and killed an unidentified person near Sather Sangam in Bijbehara. A vehicle turned turtle near T-Chowk Fruit Mandi Parimpora in which the driver and two women were injured.

On the other hand, at least four bridges were completely damaged and several villages of the Machil in Kupwara got affected due to flashfloods triggered by heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the Line of Control (LoC) trade has been suspended for a week as the recent rains in Uri in Barramulla district has damaged the roads.—INP
