HBL conferred award as leading bank in home remittances

Friday, September 21, 2012 - Islamabad—Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Pakistan’s largest commercial bank, has been conferred the “Leading Bank in Home Remittances” award for the year 2011 by the Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI).

Nauman K. Dar, President and CEO designate, received the award from Mr. Yasin Anwar, Governor, State Bank of Pakistan at a ceremony in Karachi. Announcing the award, Mr. Najm-us-Saqib Shabbir, Head-PRI lauded the Bank’s efforts in facilitating remittances to Pakistan and said that the award was given in recognition of, amongst others, innovative solutions and strong service levels offered by HBL to customers. HBL has introduced a number of Home Remittance Products and Services over time which include HBL FastTransfer and HBL PardesCard, a debit card designed specifically for home remittances.

Accepting the award, Mr. Nauman K. Dar reaffirmed HBL’s commitment to providing convenient and efficient services to remittance customers. “We understand the significance of home remittances to the lives of Pakistanis and to the (country’s) economy. As a Pakistani bank with the largest international presence, we are conscious and humbled by the responsibility we shoulder”, said Mr. Dar.
