PTA gets new chairman

Friday, September 21, 2012 - Karachi—Amanullah Aftab and Abrar Ahmed have been elected as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) S.Z for the term of 2012-13 here on Thursday in annual general meeting held at PTA premises.

Aman has also served the association as chairman in 2001-02. The general body members have also elected Kashif Anis, Kamran Habib, Shaikh Aijaz Ahmed, Shaikh Muhammad Imran, Asadullah Ahmed, Sarfraz Amin, Amir Majeed, Khawaja Shaukat Mahmood as members managing committee.

The newly elected Chairman Amanullah Aftab and Vice Chairman Abrar Ahmed along with all the general body members paid glowing tributes to the outgoing Chairman M Khurshid Ahmed for his tireless efforts and devotion to the association during entire tenure. The said that Khurshid’s services are unforgettable as he achieved many milestones particularly laying of 5 MGD water pipeline in the Tannery Zone, removal of solid waste from the area, street lights, establishment of CPLC-PTA Neighborhood Care in Korangi’s Sector 7-A which is firs ever security and area watch project in any industrial zone in Pakistan.

Meanwhile PTA’s Environment Society has also held its annual general meeting simultaneously in which Gulzar Firoz has been elected unopposed as President consecutively for the fourth time. Tanvir Ahmed Senior Vice President and Shakil Ahmed elected as Vice President. The meeting also elected M Khurshid Ahmed as General Secretary and Usman Umer as treasurer. S M Nasim, Nasim Iqbal, Masoodul Hasan, M Danish Khan, Shaikh Saqib Saeed and Hamid Arshad Zahoor were elected as members managing committee.
