Encroachments on alternative route

Friday, September 21, 2012 - Rawalpindi—Despite the claims of the TMA Rawal Town, encroachments could not be removed yet on the alternative route for the Sixth Road flyover construction, what to talk about the encroachments in rest of the city.

Traffic mess is already creating nuisance for the transporters and residents on Benazir Bhutto Road (Murree Road) and it is feared that when the traffic would be diverted to the alternative route, traffic mess due to lack of proper action against the encroachments would add to their miseries.

Besides, Motorcycle workshops have grabbed parts of BB Road near Liaquat Bagh and Committee Chowk and the police are further adding to the problem by placing barriers on the road.

The encroachments on Cricket Stadium Road are also putting question mark on the performance of the city administration.—INP
