UN Group calls for end to disappearances

Friday, September 21, 2012 - Islamabad—UN Experts Group on enforced disappearances has said that forced disappearances of people under the garb of war on terror is a serious crime and demanded that this practice should be stopped forth with.

Addressing a press conference here Thursday at the conclusion of its visit, the group said there are huge differences about the number of missing persons. It said during visit to Balochistan, they were informed by relatives and non-government sources that the number of missing person was 14000 while the provincial government said that there were only 100 missing persons. —INP
