Reference held to remember late Safdar Shahid

Tuesday, September 18, 2012 - Rawalpindi—A condolence reference was held in memory of renowned poet, writer and founding Chairman of literary organization ‘Dhandara’ at Anjuman Faiz ul Islam, Faizabad Campus here on Monday. Prof. Aziz Ahmad Hashmi presided over the reference while Rana Abdul Baqi was the chief guest.

Nasim Sehar, Naeem Qureshi, Abdul Rashid Mirza, Hamid Shah Bukhari, Farkhanda Shameem and Tamoor Safdar, son of Safdar Sahid spoke on the occasion and threw light on life and achievements of Safdar Shahid. The speakers said Safdar set the precedence for budding poets to explore new ways of expression for conveying their message in a heart touching tone so that a positive change could be brought in the society. His contemporary poets and writers paid rich tributes to the services of Safdar Shahid who dedicated his life for promotion of literature in the country.—APP
