Strike in Quetta over Mastung massacre


Saturday, September 15, 2012 - Quetta—Strike was observed on Friday in various areas of provincial capital over the killing of 10 labourers in Mastung on Thursday.

All traders, political, religious and other parties have supported the strike hence all business and other activities are suspended in the city and surrounding areas. Markets and shops remained closed in most parts of the city. He strike call was announced by Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party

The provincial government gave the powers of police to frontier corps (FC) for two months to restore peace in the city. Heavy contingents of FC have been deployed in the city. However, the situation remains the same with killings of innocent lives on the rise.—Online
