Palestinian envoy pays farewell call on PM


Thursday, August 30, 2012 - Islamabad—Dr Hazem Hussein Abu Shanab, Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at Prime Minister’s House Wednesday.

The Prime Minister congratulated Dr. Hussein on successful completion of his tenure in Pakistan and asked him to convey the best wishes on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to the government and people of Palestine.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has consistently extended unequivocal support to the cause of Palestine. Pakistan believes that unless the Palstine problem is resolved, peace in Middle East will remain elusive.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has supported all efforts aimed at resolving the Palestinian dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions.

The Prime Minister recalled the visit of President Mahmoud Abbas to Pakistan in 2010 that highlighted strong bilateral relations between both the countries. He also invited The Prime Minister to visit Palestine.—DNA
