Kashmir catches online shopping fever
Gowhar Ahmad, a consumer said: “These days I do most of my shopping via internet as it is time saving exercise and also provides you plenty of choice to choose from.” Experts believe that in near future the trend of online shopping will increase. “You will find many people today who prefer shop while sitting at their homes. This number is going to increase in the coming days,” they said.
According to observes among the Online shoppers, most are students. “The students prefer to buy books via online as the portals provide books at cheap rates,” they said. “I prefer to buy books through Flipkart portal. This type of shopping saves the time of the consumer, besides enables them to get some discount,” Abid Hafiz, a Kashmir University student said.
Pertinently, according to a survey by Research Firm Ipsos, 57 per cent of Indian respondents using the internet prefer to use online services and other financial services due to hassle-free easy access and time saving feature of online banking. Even some big companies like Liberty have started their online stores to expand their market base.
However, there is a caveat. Experts suggest that the consumers while buying Online should be extra careful and cautious. “One need to be careful while doing online shopping. In some cases fraudulent withdrawals have been made from customers account by hackers,” experts said. They said that customers also need to check on delivery whether they are getting the product they have ordered for via online lest they should get a product they have not ordered. —NNI
