NA Speaker, Acting Speaker felicitates nation on Eid

Monday, August 20, 2012 - Islamabad—Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker National Assembly has extended her warm greetings to the Muslim Parliamentarians and fellow countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr falling on 20th August, 2012.
In her message, Speaker National Assembly said that she felicitates her elders, brothers, sisters and children on the joyous occasion of Eid. “We are thankful to Allah Almighty who gave us the opportunity to keep fasts, offer prayers and help our needy brothers and sisters during the month of Ramzan” the Speaker said.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that the Eid day brings happiness for us; however the true joy relates with taking care of the needs of our poor brothers and sisters and to include them in our pleasures. Our acts should help smoothen the social irregularities and promote the spirit of sacrifice, mutual harmony and fraternity. Only then we can provide strong foundation for the establishment of a welfare Islamic society, she said.
She said that on this day let us renew our pledge and pray for the prosperity and development of entire Muslim Ummah. She prayed to Allah Almighty to guide all the Muslims to us chose right path and help them follow the true spirit of Islam and protect them from every evil. “May Allah help and protect us all. Amen”, she added.
The Madam Speaker called upon the nation to stand united on every issue of national importance and support the democratically elected government so that it can prove before the world that we are alive nation with determination, unity and will power.
Faisal Karim Kundi, Acting Speaker National Assembly has also extended eid mubarak to his fellow parliamentarians and the nation on Eid-ul-Fitr. He said that he felt very much honored in extending his warm felicitations to the entire nation and his fellow parliamentarians. He termed Eid-ul-Fitr a day to express gratitude before Allah Almighty for his blessings at the end of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. He called for sharing the joys of Eid with the needy and marginalized segments of the society.—NNI
