Call for promoting technical education
He said that technical people are the need from all over the world, especially in the Middle East where lot of demands for technical hands are getting emerged in each passing day to meet their earnest needs. He pointed out that majority of people which are being sent to abroad are not basically technical ones, causing overall damaging to reputation of the country.
He said, currently they were making efforts to get amendments in decades-old syllabus of technical education in order to meet the current requirements in the country. Fifty selected colleges and technical institutes in Punjab have announced admission (second batch) to Microsoft certified courses and matriculation students can apply till Aug 5. Sources in Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) said that it would be the second batch of students to undergo quality training courses introduced by Tevta in cooperation with Microsoft. Training and education under the course will begin from Aug 12.
One college each from Khanewal, Vehari, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Layyah, and Rahimyar Khan, two each from Dera Ghazi Khan.—APP
