Saturday, August 18, 2012 - Reading is a habit which will always give benefits to a person. It is a habit that’s important can not be properly demonstrated in words rather it can be experienced by people from various fields. It strengthens us mentally, socially and spiritually. The love of reading is developed rather than forced in a person. The people who are used to reading are one’s who have adopted this habit at an early age. Reading habit enhances one’s vocabulary and develops conversational skills. It increases one’s knowledge and creates sense of awareness in him. It is not just a source of information but also an entertainment. People read books for a variety of reasons. Many people read books for the pleasure of reading. After a stressful day, they spend some of their time in reading books and make their minds fresh and relax.

Unfortunately in this era it has been observed that the passion and interest the people used to have for reading is getting dimmer as the time passes. As the technology is advancing, the people are more interested in other thrilling and exciting things in lieu of reading.

The teenagers spend most of their “leisure time” on computers playing games, chatting or simply surfing the internet. They are more interested in their television, mobile phones, PSP etc. The new sources of entertainment have replaced reading. Abreast these teenagers are leading a stressful life regarding their tight schedules of their educational institutions. They hardly get spare time for reading. Listening and hearing something is not as beneficial as reading.

When a person is reading something with concentration he will get familiar with rare and unique words which are infrequently used in our daily lives. It is a fact that once you read something with concentration you won’t ever forget it. We often hear from our elders that “To get a command over a language read newspaper”. Reading helps to get a grip over a language. It increases our verbal skills, expressions and terminology. It is very vital for us and helps a lot in every stage of our lives. Develop this habit in you and enjoy all the privileges it proffer.
