Diving: Wu wins second gold

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 - London—China’s Wu Minxia won her second gold of London 2012 and the fourth of her Olympic career as she secured victory in the individual 3m springboard.

Wu, who was victorious in the synchronised competition alongside He Zi last weekend, traded blows with her team-mate throughout the final.

He led after the second round, but Wu hit back to score 414 points and win her sixth Olympic medal in all.

Mexico’s Laura Sanchez Soto completed the podium with bronze. It meant there was no medal for Italy’s four-time Olympian Tania Cagnotto who qualified for the final with the second highest score, but finished fourth.—AP
