SC orders NAB to pay rent to Medical College for hostel occupation
The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was informed by the NAB lawyer that the NAB courts would be shifted to the judicial complex during the current month, adding that the authority had arranged alternate residence for the students. The Chief Justice asked the NAB counsel that whether the authority had paid the rent to the medical college and sought report in this regard till August 8.
The Chief Justice remarked that earlier, police had established a Chowki in a government school and the court had ordered police to pay rent to the school and vacate the illegal occupation.
During the course of hearing, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja remarked that there should be difference in the NAB and illegal occupants.—APP
