Trader’s house attacked in DHA


Tuesday, August 07, 2012 - Karachi—Some unknown miscreants threw a hand grenade in a traders resident in Khayaba-e-Mujahid of Darakhshan area on Monday.

However, the bomb disposal squad said, the grenade did not explode and the home residents escaped terrorists attack.

The trader claimed that he was threatened by a criminal gang for money extortion. Extortion mafia collecting fitra and zakat at the rate of Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per shop in Karachi.

In another incident in Gizri, a robber was killed during a robbery in a shop.

The shopkeeper shot him down in an attempt to rob his shop. Few days ago, a man was injured while at least three vehicles caught fire when armed men threw a hand grenade outside a departmental store near the NIPA flyover.—NNI
