Rangers High level security meeting held

Saturday, August 04, 2012 - Karachi—A high-level meeting held at the headquarters of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, here on Friday reviewed security arrangements especially on the forthcoming ‘Youm-e-Ali’ to ward off any untoward incident.

The Director General Rangers, Sindh, Maj. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar, Additional IG Karachi, representative of Sindh Home Department, Joint DG IB, DIGs of three security zone in Karachi, DIG Traffic, Chief of CPLC and officers of rangers, KESC and City District Government Karachi attended the meeting.A statement said that the Rangers and the Police jointly finalized security arrangements for ensuring law and order situation with regard to ‘Youm-e-Ali’.

It said that the Sindh Rangers and the Police have been put on high alert.

Temporary pickets of Rangers and Police have been set up in the sensitive areas of the metropolis.

Apart from a heavy police posse, 5,000 more personnel of Rangers would be deployed.The meeting appealed to the Ulema to preach the spirit of brotherhood and extend full assistance to the law enforcement agencies for the maintenance of law and order. APP
