Attock—The journalists of Attock have decided to launch an unending but peaceful protest against the hours long load shedding which is being faced by the residents of Attock. The journalists will daily hold a protest camp and sit in Fawara Chowk Attock for an hour. The journalists have threatened to lodge an FIR against Xen and SDOs if they would face any medical problem during this scorching heat. The journalists had a meeting with MNA Sheikh Aftab Ahmad at his residence and apprised him of the worsening situation because of hours long and unscheduled load shedding in the city. They said that although Attock Ghazi barotha Project was pouring in more than one thousand mega watt electricity to national grid yet was facing hours long load shedding which was beyond under standing. They vowed their protest will remain continue till the time load shedding in Attock is brought to minimum level. They said, Xen and SDOs keep their cell phones off and their landline numbers are kept busy by placing the receivers off the cradle. MNA Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said that Federal Govt was doing injustice to Attock and whole the Punjab as well .he said, although there is short fall but it must be managed by the authorities .he said, in Islamabad and rawalpindi there was load shedding for six hours but in Attock it was for 20 hours which has made the lives of the people miserable. he said, Punajb was paying 98% electricity bills even then facing prolong load shedding specially in Ramzan ul mubarik.he said that he would also protest against the load shedding and will join the protest camp of the journalists.
