Saturday, July 21, 2012 - Faisalabad—The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has installed 52 close circuit television (CCTV) cameras keeping in view to ensure watch and ward system at the campus. This was stated by Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Vice Chancellor UAF while addressing the farewell party of six security personnel at Student teacher Centre (STC) Hall here. Dr Iqrar told that only main gate at Jail Road would remain open for visitors and other campus communities. He added security personnels were rendering their services for assuring better security atmosphere at the campus and it would be remembered forever. Dr Khan added that the university employees from BPS-1 to BPS-22 were equally respectable and contributing with zeal and enthusiasm for the betterment of institution. Dr Farooq Ahmad, Principal Officer Security & Estate Management, also addressed the ceremony. Later, chief guest Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan distributed gifts among outgoing security officials- Rana Muhammad Ali, Raja Khan, Manzoor Chiragh, Abdul Aziz Butt, Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Younas, M. Ismaeel and Muhammad Boota. Meanwhile, University of Agriculture Faisalabad has become a pioneer institution of the country by offering a degree programme on human nutrition and dietetics, said UAF VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. He was addressing the participants of a farewell party of National Institute of Food Science & Technology and annual programme of Pakistan Society of Food Scientists and Technologists here on Tuesday. Dr Iqrar Ahmad said avenues in food processing, fast food and investment by the multinationals in the sector have opened new windows of opportunities for the food graduates equipped with nutrition and dietetics experience.
