Saturday, July 21, 2012 - Islamabad—Dr Fehmida Mirza, Speaker and Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker have congratulated Syed Abdul Qadir Gillani on his election as a Member of National Assembly. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker in their felicitation message to newly elected MNA, said that his success in bye-election was the reflection of trust of leadership and the people of his constituency reposed in him. They were confident that newly elected MNA would work for promotion of democracy in the country and welfare of the people of his constituency. Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmed has felicitated Abdul Qadir Gilani on his success in by-polls. In a message of felicitation, he said that his victory was the success of democracy-loving forces. “Your success is a clear message to forces which are bent upon maligning the PPP over loadshedding and other issues. It is the people that pronounce their final verdict and prove that they are with the PPP and will continue to support it in future,” he added. Meanwhile, PPP deputy parliamentary party leader in the Punjab Assembly Shaukat Basra greeted Abdul Qadir Gilani on his win. He said the victory of the PPP-candidate was solid proof of the masses support to the party. The PPP, he said, will sweep the next general elections. Senior Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim has congratulated Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani for winning election of NA-151 constituency of Multan after defeating his main rival Shaukat Hayat Bosan. “It reflects strong public loyalty towards Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani” said Makhdoom Amin Fahim in a statement issued here on Friday.
