PM welcomes visa facilitation for businessmen by Afghanistan

Saturday, July 21, 2012 - Islamabad—Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has appreciated the decision of the Afghan government to grant multiple visas to the businessmen of Pakistan who were facing problems in getting this visa. The announcement was made by the Afghan President Hamid Karzai yesterday during his joint press conference with Premier Raja Ashraf in the Presidential Palace.

The Prime Minister was talking to Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim who called on him at Prime Minister’s House on Friday.

The Prime Minister said that the issue of visas came under discussion during the bilateral talks with Afghan delegation and he complimented President Karzai for granting multiple entry visas to Pakistani businessmen.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim said that the decision would boost the economic and trade relations at the level which would be quite beneficial to the people of the both countries. The growth of trade and commerce hinged on the facilitation provided by the respective host countries to the businessmen, added the minister.

Minister for Commerce also congratulated the Prime Minister on the winning of PPP candidate, Mr. Abdul Qadir Gilani from Multan, the seat vacated after the ouster of the former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.

The Prime Minister said that the hotly contested election clearly manifested the PPP popularity among the poor people of the country and was the most popular federal party of the country.
