Committee formed to inspect fireworks factories

Saturday, July 21, 2012 - Rawalpindi—On the directives of the Punjab home department, the City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) has constituted four-member committees in all tehsils of the district to keep check on fireworks factories in order to curb selling of explosive to miscreants.

The CDGR has sought reports from tehsil committees within ten days. The committees would comprise concerned tehsil assistant commissioners, DSPs and one official each from Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and civil defence.

The teams would inspect license holder factories besides other illegal setup operating in the city so as to restrain terrorist to get explosive material which could be used in terrorist activities.—INP
