Promises
Monday, July 16, 2012 - Renala Khurd (Okara)—State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Sumsam Ali Shah Bukhari said the PPP-led government would fulfil all its promises made with the people. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Sui Gas supply scheme at 23-2L village on Sunday, he said that it was the menifesto of the party to provide all basic amenities of life to people and it would continue serving the people according to the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He said that gas supply to the village was the last one project of gas supply to all villages of Union Council 36 of Okara which was announced by former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani during his visit to Karmanwala when he was in power. He informed the media that an amount of Rs 430 million was spent on the project, adding that more than 60,000 people of the area would be benifited with this project. The state minister will inaugurate another sui gas supply project at Shergarh (Phase 1) on Monday which would benefit about 25 villages of the area. State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari said that Pakistan is planning to add 8,800 megawatt electricity through nuclear means by the year 2030. Addressing the participants of a two-day National Conference on ‘Applications of Nuclear Science and Technology’, organized by the South Asian Strategic Stability Institute (SASSI) here, he said, “Currently Pakistan is producing 2.9 percent of its electricity from nuclear energy and Pakistan is planning to increase the share of nuclear energy to 8,800 megawatt electricity by the year 2030.”—APP
