Heavy rain inundates Lower Dir, Swat


Monday, July 16, 2012 - Peshawar—The heavy rain coupled with clod breeze lashed Lower Dir and Saidu Sharif, capital of Swat district, turning the weather pleasant. According to Met office here on Sunday, Lower Dir has received 56 millimetre rain and Saidu Sharif 30, Malama Jabba 14 milimeter in last 24 hours, turning the weather pleasant.

The tourists, who came in large number to see Kalam Festival have also enjoyed the pleasant change in the weather. The tourists were also seen Fizagut and Behran areas. As per Met Office Report, the seasonal low lies over north Baluchistan and monsoon currents are penetrating into most parts of the country. Rain and thundershower associated with strong gusty winds is expected at scattered places of lower KP (Bannu, Kohat, D.I.Khan divisions) and Kashmir, while isolated places of lower & central Punjab( Islama-bad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisa labad, Sahiwal, D.G.Khan, Multan divisions), upper KP( Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan in next 24 hours.

In next 48 hours, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of country however Rain/thundershower associated with strong gusty winds is likely at isolated places of KP, upper & central Punjab, southeastern Sindh and Kash-mir/Gilgit-Baltistan.—APP
