Fazal Sherani to be appointed as CE TDAP

Monday, July 16, 2012 - Karachi—President Asif Ali Zaradari is scheduled to meet President, Pakistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani in Islamabad in order to discuss appointment of new Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) which has fell vacant following ouster of Tariq Puri recently.
According to a press release here Sunday, President Zardari will meet Sherani at the Presidency on Monday and it is more likely that he would announce the appointment of Sherani to head TDAP.
The apex body of Pakistan’s business community had demanded of the President to appoint CE TDAP from the private sector as this precedence has proved to be very successful in the past and business community particularly exporters were quite satisfied with the performance of them.
Haji Fazal Kadir Sherani hails from Balochistan and is a veteran business leader.
It is pertinent to note that this might be the first time that someone from Balochistan to supervise TDAP.
